Why are so many people jumping on the bandwagon? The Ketogenic diet has so many health benefits and it’s amazing that there are still a lot of people who are not knowledgeable about this. In most recent studies, low-carb diets show more and more evidence as being a healthy and beneficial diet. The Ketogenic diet was first used at the Mayo Clinic in the 1920s to treat children with epilepsy. Researchers believe it is because of the increased longevity of neurons of brain mitochondria and mitochondrial enzymes. Scientists now have been doing more research and giving more attention to the Ketogenic diet and the effects it has on Alzheimer’s disease, researchers have discovered increased cognition and enhanced memory in adults with impairments in these areas. So, with all the research and attention the Scientist and Experts have been giving to this diet.

Let’s look and see what else happens to the body while it is in the ketogenic state. Weight loss is the first thing that is supported, that’s one of the main reasons why people are trying this high-fat, low-carb diet. You can lose weight without the need of starving yourself you will have fewer hunger cravings with more appetite control.

More people are saying they feel much happier, and have more energy. Many have also experience a change and and reversal of health problems they once were diagnosed with such as diabetes due to blood sugar management. What ever the reasons for starting this diet its no secret that it is a relatively simple, well-studied weight loss method with other health benefits. But, before trying this or any diet make sure you check with your doctor or nutritionist before starting.
